Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is home to over four hundred Pokemon, some native to the region of Paldea, and some hailing from other regions in previous Pokemon games. Two such Pokemon are Foongus and Amoonguss, both known as the Mushroom Pokemon for obvious reasons. These two Pokemon are Grass/Poison-types that were first introduced in Pokemon Black & White.
In terms of competitive play, Amoonguss is actually leading the pack, some would say to an unfair degree thanks to its access to Spore. Spore is an ability with 100% accuracy that is guaranteed to put any Pokemon that is not immune to sleep. With that in mind, it's in players' best interest to get hold of the Mushroom Pokemon to catch Amoonguss in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
Where to Find Foongus in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
This little Mushroom Pokemon is scattered all over Paldea, so players shouldn't have too much trouble finding it. As its habitat map states, it likes being near trees. The only challenge may be its size, as in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Pokemon in the overworld represent their actual size. In the case of Foogus, that can be quite small, so players should be sure to check in the long grass of the following locations:
- South Province (Area One)
- South Province (Area Two)
- South Province (Area Four)
- West Province (Area Three)
- Tagtree Thicket
- East Province (Area One)
- East Province (Area Two)
- Casseroya Lake
- North Province (Area One)
- North Province (Area Two)
How to Evolve Foongus into Amoonguss in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Evolving Foongus in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is done by getting the Pokemon to Level 39. Players can do this by having Foongus in the party when battling as EXP Share is now a standard Pokemon feature, or by using EXP/Rare Candies. Foongus will automatically evolve into Amoonguss when it hits Level 39.
Where to Find Amoonguss in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Players that want quick and reliable access to Amoonguss without having to evolve it are in luck, as it's a fairly common Pokemon that can be found in a surprising amount of locations, despite what the habitat map says. It sticks to wooded areas and is often seen surrounded by Foongus, so players can kill two birds with one stone, no evolution needed. Those looking to catch Amoonguss should check the following locations:
- South Province (Area One)
- South Province (Area Two)
- South Province (Area Four)
- West Province (Area Three)
- Tagtree Thicket
- East Province (Area One)
- East Province (Area Two)
- Casseroya Lake
- North Province (Area One)
- North Province (Area Two)
