The Dark Side is certainly a pathway to many abilities that many consider unnatural, which is why Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is the perfect choice for Star Wars fans looking to unleash their rage against the enemies in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is an iconic Star Wars hilt thanks to the vents that give it the appearance of a crossguard blade. Players can make Kylo Ren’s lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, provided they have the rage and frustration to unleash their inner Kylo Ren.
Red Kyber Crystal
The most striking piece of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is the bright red that burns with each ignition of the blade. Red lightsabers have always been iconic in Star Wars, and Kylo Ren utilizes them perfectly with his rage and frustration. Now, players can have that power too, but with one condition that they might not meet.
To obtain the red Kyber crystal to have a red lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, players are going to want to complete the story to reach New Game Plus. This game mode will unlock the red Kyber crystal. However, players that don’t want to start New Game Plus can settle for the orange Kyber crystal instead.
Crossguard Stance
There are five stances in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the one that players will want to use to get the Kylo Ren look is the Crossguard stance. This stance is essential to Kylo Ren players, due to the thickness of the blade, and the fact that players will have the crossguard effects, giving their lightsaber the bled Kyber crystal red vents that they need.
The crossguard stance may not be to everyone’s taste, as it’s far slower and less striking than other lightsaber stances, but players need to use the crossguard stance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor if they are to gain the grand appearance of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Scrapyard Emitter
The first piece of the puzzle to make Kylo Ren’s lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the Scrapyard emitter. This emitter can be obtained from the Veiled Hanger on Jedha, and although other emitter pieces have great potential, the Scrapyard emitter is a great choice simply because of its visual appearance.
The Scrapyard emitter is small, which is perfect when one considers that Kylo Ren’s lightsaber emitter is dwarfed by the vents. The emitter is also of a scrapyard design, which gives it a salvaged appearance that could benefit players with this emitter piece.
Patience Vents
The Patience pieces in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can be found across Coruscant, and the emitter piece is needed if players are to obtain the Vents. With the Crossguard stance unlocked, players can go to their workbench to equip the correct Vent pieces. With this lightsaber, players won't be the only red-bladed character in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
With the Patience Vent pieces equipped, players will have the pieces that resemble the Vents of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber in the closet. These port pieces will always be obscured by the red blade coming out of the vents, and players will want the Vents to be at a 90-degree angle to truly make the lightsaber come to life.
Scrapyard Switch
Another piece of the Kylo Ren lightsaber puzzle is the Scrapyard Switch. This Scrapyard Switch can be found in the Archives from the Jedha base. It’s one of the easier pieces to find in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. There are a few reasons why the Scrapyard switch is the best switch piece, but the most obvious is the visual appearance.
With the Scrapyard switch piece, players will continue that salvaged look of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. The Scrapyard piece has loose wires and pieces exposed, perfect for the Sith players of Kylo Ren when one considers that his lightsaber is consistent with exposed pieces, wires, and plenty of scrappage.
Patience Grip
The grip of the Kylo Ren lightsaber is the least noticeable piece, but that does not mean that players cannot find an appropriate piece to use to complete their build of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The grip piece can also be found on Coruscant, meaning players only need to explore the first world to obtain two pieces they need for the Kylo Ren lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The grip pieces in both Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Kylo Ren are long and reasonably thin. The worn black metal makes the Patience grip the best choice thanks to the grooves in its design and the subtlety of the grip.
Edgehawk Pommel
Players will need the Edgehawk pommel to complete the look of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. The Edgehawk lightsaber part can be found at Pyloon’s Saloon, above the hanger that holds the Stinger Mantis. This piece is a great choice for Kylo Ren’s lightsaber thanks to the sharp design and the grooves that blend outwards, much like Kylo Ren’s very own lightsaber.
The Edgehawk pommel will be the last piece that players need to complete all parts of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. Unlike other pommel pieces, the Edgehawk pommel does not have the D-ring design on the end, or a tooth, making for a great pommel choice.
Aged Iron Paint
Thanks to the Worn Metal set, players can make the Primary, Secondary, Accent, and Grip materials all the same set of Aged Iron. With Aged Iron, players can give their lightsaber the rustic and worn colors that work so well for Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. It is not a pristine lightsaber by any means, so it’s best to use the Aged Iron paint to give that worn black metallic look.
The Aged Iron paint looks great for players that want to make a Kylo Ren lightsaber in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The emitter piece looks burnt and singed from the blade ignition, and the rest of the hilt looks scorched with worn black metallic colors.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
