The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released recently and the game appears to be living up to all the expectations that the fans had from it. The long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild has managed to expand the world even further and improve the very mechanics that made the predecessor a phenomenon.

Tears of the Kingdom has improved upon various mechanics of the game, including combat, however, it also retains quite a lot of stuff, such as weapon durability.

Weapon Durability In Tears Of The Kingdom

Breath of the Wild had the mechanic where weapons have a certain level of durability, which once crossed upon weapon usage, led to the weapon breaking. This meant that the players had to use their weapons carefully and also acquire a lot of them throughout the game so as to make their gameplay more efficient.

Tears of the Kingdom retains this feature as well. Almost every weapon in the game will end up breaking with use and that means the players will need to be very careful about how to use their weapons.

Thankfully, there is a way to increase weapon durability in Tears of the Kingdom and that is down to the fuse ability that the players learn very early on in the game.

How To Increase Weapon Durability In Tears Of The Kingdom

To increase weapon durability, players can fuse things to their weapons. Without fusing, weapons won't last long in Tears of the Kingdom. However, fusing appears to grant a substantial increase to the life of the weapons. That said, the weapon will still eventually break. Fusing things such as gems, among other things, will only ensure that they last a bit longer than usual.

At the same time, it must be remembered that fusing powerful material to weapons should not be done randomly. Good fuse material should only be used with weapons that are not decaying, and, at the same time, are powerful. Base weapons play a huge role in determining how long the weapon will last in Tears of the Kingdom.

Objects attached to a rusty sword or a wooden stick will not last as long as one that is attached to a powerful weapon not affected by gloom, or a weapon that simply is not good enough, such as a wooden stick. Players will have to carefully think about which weapons they want to fuse things with to increase their life and move accordingly.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available to play now on the Nintendo Switch.
