There's no shortage of side quests in Tears of the Kingdom. In some instances, side quests may be linked to one another, requiring players to complete one before they can continue and/or start another. For those attempting The Mysterious Eighth side quest, they'll want to trace back their steps to Kara Kara Bazaar.

Lost in the Dunes is completed in the southwest region of Tears of the Kingdom's Hyrule. While it's not a complicated side quest, players will want to bring/Fuse weapons that can break through rocks. Luckily, Lost in the Dunes doesn't require a lot of fighting, but it's easy to get turned around if players aren't paying attention.

Where is Kara Kara Bazaar?

Players can find Kara Kara Bazaar at -3273, -2551, 0023. If this is their first time visiting the bazaar, then it won't be possible to read the map once Link steps into the desert. However, the coordinates will still be visible on the minimap (bottom-right corner) if players still want to attempt this side quest.

Since completing "Lost in the Dunes" is required for "The Mysterious Eighth" side quest in Gerudo Town, it's best to start it after the Lightning Temple. The latter quest involves fetching all seven orbs that represent the Seven Heroines of the Gerudo. Completing "Lost in the Dunes" gives Link with one of those orbs as a reward, which Link will have to carry all the way back to Gerudo Town.

There will be two men (Benja and Robsten) by the bazaar's inn/general store looking out into the desert (-3269, -2581, 0023). Speak to them to learn about their missing friend, and players will then unlock "Lost in the Dunes."

Before heading out in the desert, go to the Kara Kara Bazaar Well (coordinates: -3236, -2603, 0024). Drop into the well, follow the water to a cluster of blue boulders. These cannot be broken from this side of the waterways, so don't bother attacking them. Instead, open the map and place a marker where the boulders are located. This will indicate where Link needs to go.

Here's what to do:

  1. Return to the surface using Ascend, and then go to -3347, -2679, 0028. There's also a campfire nearby for guidance.
  2. There should be a sandpit that players can dive in.
  3. Jumping in will bring Link to an underground cave where they'll find Ponthos. Speak to him and he'll lament about getting stuck. He's not much help for the rest of the quest, so ignore him and look around for breakable walls/boulders. Unlike the blue ones from earlier, these can be broken with a Rock Hammer or (if players have it) Spirit Yunobo's Ability.
  4. Go towards the marker on the map, breaking down any boulders in the way. If players didn't place the marker, then they should instead move towards (-3253, -2629, 0004).
  5. Break the boulders leading to the Kara Kara Bazaar Well, then head back to Ponthos. Talk to him, and he'll leave.
  6. Return to Kara Kara Bazaar and speak with him and his friends. This will net Link one of the Gerudo Heroine Statue orbs.
