Much like its 2017 predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom boasts an awful lot of content, from its expansive main story to its vast array of shrines and collectibles. The game also features plenty of side quests, many of which reward players with Rupees or other useful items and equipment.

Mired in Muck is one of the easier side quests in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for players who know what they're doing. For everybody else though, figuring out how exactly to tackle the quest can be a little frustrating, as the game doesn't really explain itself all that well.

Mired in Muck Location

Players can initiate the Mired in Muck side quest by speaking with Bazz: the captain of the guard at Zora's Domain. He can be found near the entrance to the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, which is high up in the mountains of the Lanayru region. He can be a little difficult to spot due to the sticky brown and purple goo that's covering his body, so, for those having trouble, the exact coordinates of Bazz are 2844, 0585,0376.

When players first speak to Bazz, he'll explain that he could free himself from the sludge if only he had some water. Unfortunately, however, the nearest water is quite far from the player's current location, and, even if it wasn't, they'd have no way of carrying the water over to Bazz or vice versa. Thankfully, there is a much easier solution to this seemingly sticky situation.

As players learned while tackling the In-isa Shrine earlier on in the game, it's possible to attach certain materials to Link's arrows. Fire Fruit can be used to add a flame effect to Link's attacks, so it stands to reason that there must be a water-based equivalent. Indeed, those already familiar with Splash Fruit will know that it releases a large amount of water upon impact, making it the perfect tool for the job at hand. It just so happens that there's some growing nearby, so players should scout the surrounding area and return once they have a Splash Fruit or two in their possession.

To wash away the purple and brown sludge covering Bazz, players should hold the R button to draw an arrow and then hold Up on the D-Pad to bring up the material attach menu. Next, they'll want to select Splash Fruit and release Up. Finally, they can aim their shot at Bazz and release the R button, which will cause Link to fire the arrow and clean up all of the sludge. Players can then speak with Bazz, who's so grateful that he'll reward players with a Zora Spear as a way of saying thanks.
