The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom includes many familiar locations from Breath of the Wild, including the Korok Forest. Players will find many familiar faces there, including the Deku Tree, Hestu, and even little Walton. In the previous game, Walton had a quest chain that had riddles for Link to solve. In Tears of the Kingdom, Link instead will need to find some hidden objects around the Deku Tree that Walton has squirreled away. These three objects are pretty cleverly hidden, so some players might want a little help.

How to Unlock Walton's Treasure Hunt in Tears of the Kingdom

In order to unlock the quest in the first place, players will need to save the Tears of the Kingdom's Lost Woods from Ganondorf's influence. This is a fairly brief quest chain that requires players find the Chasm in the Deku Tree's stomach, then head down into the Depths to defeat a Gloom Hands and a Phantom Ganon among the roots of the tree. Once this is complete, the Lost Woods will once again be a safe place for Koroks and the Deku Tree.

Players need to climb or use Link's new Ascend Power to head to the very top of the Deku Tree. Once there, they can find Walton in his usual spot, waiting for someone to come and play with him. Chat with him, and he will ask Link's opinion on his hiding skills. He'll tell Link to find both a Forest Dweller Sword and Spear.

First thing's first; Link will need to make room in his inventory for the two new weapons to carry back to Walton. Thankfully, giant Korok Hestu will be on the ground below to help expand the weapon inventory and shield inventory to make room for these quest items.

Next, head across the top of the Deku Tree from Walton and look for the bit of bark that is taller than the other sides. The Forest Dweller Sword will be stuck in the top of this section of the Tree. The Forest Dweller Sword is a one-handed, 7 power, durable weapon made of wood. Bursting materials added to this spear can be used over and over again.

The Forest Dweller Spear is a little bit harder to find. This weapon is located across the Deku Tree's head from Walton, hidden behind one of the big branches. Players can find it at 0405, 2197, 0229. This is a two-handed spear weapon made of wood; it has 7 power. Bursting materials that have been fused to these weapons in Tears of the Kingdom can be used over and over again.

After bringing the spear and the sword back to Walton, he will ask players to help him again; this time, he will ask Link to find a Forest Dweller's Shield. This 30-block shield is hidden just above the door to the Deku Tree's naval where the mushroom shop, inn, and Chasm are located. Pick up the shield and bring it back to Walton for Link's reward.
