The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has its fair share of complex shrine challenges scattered throughout Hyrule. One shrine that may give players some confusion is the Tukarok Shrine and its series of puzzles involving Wheel Zonai Devices.

Tukarok Shrine Location in Tears of the Kingdom

Tukarok Shrine can be found immediately south of the Wetland Stable, which is itself south of Rebonae Bridge. This area is close to where Link first touches back down on the ground after Great Sky Island and is a short horse ride west-southwest from Hyrule Castle. The coordinates for the Tukarok Shrine are 0912, -0240, 0030.

When players first enter Tukarok Shrine, they'll notice a large hole in the ground ahead of them with an orange glow. The challenge of this shrine is for players to navigate a large, glowing ball through three separate puzzles to finally end up in that hole.

As the name of the shrine's challenge implies, the goal of each puzzle is to teach players how to use the forward force of Wheel Zonai Devices for their own benefit.

Tukarok Shrine: First Puzzle

Players should ignore the glowing hole for now and proceed forward over a ledge to find the large ball, a pit of lava, and a makeshift car. This puzzle is rather simple: players just need to use their Ultrahand ability to attach the ball to the makeshift car and ride it across the pit of lava.

As a reminder, Zonai Devices can be activated by striking them with any weapon. Once across, players can grab the ball with Link's Ultrahand ability, shake it loose by wiggling the directional stick on the Joy-Con (R), and proceed to the next puzzle.

Tukarok Shrine: Second Puzzle

In the next area, players will find a stone block on a track, with several ascending grate walls up to a high ledge. Unfortunately, players are not able to simply throw the ball up onto the ledge. It is possible to attach the ball to the block, use Ultrahand to slide it as far as possible, drop it, and use Recall to bring it partway back up the rail.

If players are fast enough or can attach other objects to the block to extend its reach, they may be able to climb up the ladder and grab it with Ultrahand. However, the intended method for players is to use the objects and devices in the area to traverse the ascending walls.

There are many possible combinations for the player to create, but the simplest contraption is the one detailed in the picture above. Players should use Ultrahand to attach the ball to the top of the block, then attach the Zonai Wheel to the center of the block's outside face, followed by the long stone tablet attached to the other side of the wheel.

When attaching the wheel, players should be mindful of the direction it will go by checking the arrows on the wheel itself. When looking at the wheel from the angle pictured above, the arrows should be going counterclockwise in the direction of the high ledge.

Once assembled, players can activate the wheel to have the whole contraption climb up the walls like a rudimentary gear. It may stagger a bit, but it will eventually reach the top and hold in place, as detailed in the image above. Players can climb the ladder, remove the ball with Ultrahand and proceed to the final puzzle.

Tukarok Shrine Hidden Chest

As they approach the third puzzle, players interested in a hidden chest should look over the edge of the water between the two grated walls. For clarity, it's the only path in the water without a raft already in it.

From the edge, players can use Ultrahand to reach the bottom of the pool and pull up a secret chest containing a Strong Zoanite Sword.

Tukarok Shrine Third Puzzle

For the third and final puzzle in Tukarok Shrine, players will have to transport their ball across the water using a raft. The simplest solution to this puzzle is to attach the ball to the top of one of the rafts, then affix the long wooden boards to the wheels on either side, as pictured above.

When activated, the assembled machine will paddle the raft and the ball across the water. Players can ride the raft across or climb up a ladder and walk across a ledge to the other side. There, players can once again remove the ball with Ultrahand and use it to press a glowing button on the floor to open up the door to the entry area with the glowing hole.

As the ball is placed into the hole, the other door will open and allow players to reach the statue and claim their Light of Blessing, which is used to increase Link's health and stamina.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
