As players make first their way toward Hyrule Castle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are many sights to see along the way. Many new shrines litter Hyrule Field, offering enticing puzzles for players to solve. Yamiyo can be found early on in Link's journey and poses a Combat Challenge for throwing materials, explaining how to perform such a skill in Tears of the Kingdom.
Yamiyo Shrine Location in Tears of the Kingdom
Players can find Yamiyo Shrine northeast of Hyrule Castle or, for a longer hike, northwest of the Wetland Stable. It shouldn't be hard to miss as it protrudes from the open field near some broken pillars. The area is rather flat, so the signature green spiral should be able to be seen from a good distance away. The coordinates for the Yamiyo Shrine are 0338, 0401, 0026.
How to Throw Items in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Yamiyo Shrine serves to teach players how to throw materials from their inventory rather than the weapon they have in hand. To perform this skill, players should hold the R button as they would to throw a weapon, but while they hold the button, they can hold the Up button on the Joy-Con (L) to bring up the material menu.
While holding both the R and Up buttons, players can navigate to the material they wish to throw using the directional stick on the Joy-Con (R). Letting go of the Up button will return players to the Link's throwing action with the chosen material in his hands. Just like throwing a weapon, releasing the R button will throw the material.
Yamiyo Shrine Walkthrough
As players enter the shrine, they are presented with a construct on a raised platform and are instructed to aim true and throw the material. Players should gather the Fire Fruit from the nearby bushes and toss them at the construct.
No other attacks will be able to cause damage to the construct in this shrine. Although the enemy will occasionally attack, it's recommended to get close in order to hit the construct, as the thrown material may not fly as far as players might think.
After successfully hitting their mark, players will be asked to hit the construct again, but this time, as it paces back and forth. Players should once again throw Fire Fruits at the enemy to destroy it.
Upon the destruction of this construct, the door in the back of the room will open, and players will then be able to enter the room with the statue to complete the shrine and gain their Light of Blessing.
As a reward for completing the training, players will find a chest in the statue room containing three Bomb Flowers. These items are the replacement for the Bomb Runes in Tears of the Kingdom and can be thrown just like the Fire Fruits. They can also be fused to arrows to form Bomb Arrows.
