Many of the shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom require players to solve challenging puzzles in order to emerge victorious. That's not really the case with the Kikakin Shrine though, with players instead having to walk around a mostly empty chamber as they look for a key. There is one pretty big catch though.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Kikain Shrine features no ambient lighting, meaning that players will need to fumble around in the darkness in order to find their way. Thankfully, the game does provide them with a Zonai flashlight, though this only illuminates the area immediately surrounding Link.
Kikakin Shrine Location
The Kikakin Shrine is in the Great Hyrule Forest area to the southwest of the Typhlo Ruins Skyview Tower. Like many of the other shrines in the area, it's slap bang in the center of a mountain range, so players will probably want to approach it by air rather than on foot. It's about a two-minute glide from the aforementioned tower, though players will need to have upgraded Link's stamina a little to make the journey in one go. The coordinates of the Kikakin Shrine are -0397, 2734, 0287.
Kikakin Shrine Walkthrough
Upon entering Kikakin Shrine, players should pick up the lantern. They can grab it with Link's Ultrahand Ability if they like, but it's arguably more effective when carried by hand due to how little of the surrounding area it actually illuminates. Whichever option they choose, they'll want to follow the left wall of the shrine and stick to it for the entire time. Doing so will soon lead players to a corridor with a bunch of red lasers. They should dodge these and then open the chest in the little alcove on the left of the corridor to receive a chunk of Opal.
Once they've opened the chest, players should pick the lantern back up and continue to follow the wall on their left. After passing between two moving spike walls and then to the left of a single spike wall soon after, they'll come to an area in which a faint light is emitted from beneath a strange-looking floor tile. Here, they should use Link's Ultrahand ability to move the tile, which will allow them to get to the chest beneath it. This chest contains a small key, which can be used to unlock the key door near the entrance and reach the Kikakin Shrine statue room.
