There are many hidden shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and some are guarded by an enemy horde. Maoikes Shrine happens to check both of these boxes hidden in a mountain cave surrounded by an enemy fort. The shrine has two ways it can be reached, with one option decidedly easier.

Players can quickly reach the area of Hyrule with Maoikes Shrine by first using the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and traveling directly southwest. Be it by land or air, players will likely spot a tall rocky mountain with a large skull at the top as they approach.

At this point, Tears of the Kingdom gives players the option to either ascend the mountain or enter the cave at the bottom. Either way, players should proceed clockwise around the mountain towards the enemy stronghold with a few Bokoblins and Lizalfos.

How to Get to Maoikes Shrine (Easy)

The easier of the two routes involves climbing up the tall watchtower in the enemy camp to get to the higher area of the mountain. If a player has good climbing gear, they could even skip the camp and climb the mountainside on their own.

At the next level, they will find yet another watchtower that can take them up to nearly the height of the mountain and the large skull on top.

After gliding across, players can enter the mouth of the skull and descend into the first of two entrances to Bone Pond East Cave.

Players should glide down slowly as the shrine can be seen in a small enclave directly in front of Link after a bit of falling. There they can enter and claim their free Light of Blessing from Rauru's Blessing and a Diamond in the chest.

How to Get to Maoikes Shrine (Challenging)

For players seeking to earn their Light of Blessing with a bit more of a challenge, they should continue clockwise around the mountain instead of ascending the watchtowers. Players will come to another entrance to the cave with an Armored Bokoblin guarding the entrance.

After defeating the guard with bomb flowers or other explosives, players can enter the cave to find a group of Bokoblins and their Boss Bokoblin sitting around with a Hylian in a cage.

If players are able to defeat the enemies, they have the option of freeing the Hylian by using the Ultrahand ability to lift the cage up and off. As thanks, he'll reward Link with several cooked meals. Players can then turn and climb up toward the opening in the cave's ceiling to reach the small alcove containing the shrine.

With the real challenge over and done, players can enter Maoikes Shrine and claim their prize.
