Tears of the Kingdom is a longer game than Breath of the Wild, thanks to its sprawling world and an abundance of Shrines for Link to hunt down. In total, there are 152 Shrines in Hyrule and the Sky Islands --120 on the ground and 32 in the sky. Some Tears of the Kingdom Shrines, like Mayachideg, remove everything in Link's inventory and unequips his armor and weapons to present a unique challenge.

Mayachideg Shrine is given the subtitle "Proving Grounds: The Hunt," but this isn't necessarily in reference to Link hunting anyone, though that is an option. In fact, this Shrine gives Link a handful of Zonai Devices that slowly crawl forwards, dealing a little damage on contact. With enough of these and a bit of quick thinking and good placement, dispatching the Constructs within Mayachideg is a piece of cake.

Mayachideg Shrine is found at the coordinates (2065, 1824, 0216) in the Akkala Highlands region, tucked into the side of a cliff. The easiest way to get there is from the nearby South Akkala Stable at the intersection of the road, but players can also fly from the top of the Akkala Citadel Ruins.

Another Shrine can be found on top of the Citadel, though it's perfectly possible to just walk there on foot.

Upon entering Mayachideg, everything in Link's possession is taken away. This might remind some players of the challenge presented on Eventide Island, which tasked Link with surviving without any equipment. Link is provided two important aids: simple weapons and a handful of Zonai machines that, when hit, will inch towards the nearest enemy and slowly push them while dealing damage.

The first room Link finds himself in has one Construct down a ramp from two of these crawlers. Pick up the Wooden Stick at the entrance, and attack each of the Zonai crawlers with it to activate them. They will head towards the Construct, who won't be able to damage them.

Once defeated, the nearby grate will open to a room filled with Constructs and Zonai machines. Bring these two machines with you, activate them to get the Constructs' attention, and start dragging and activating other machines in the room until they swarm the Constructs.

When one of the enemies starts to get attacked by one of the Zonai crawlers, most of the others in the area will also be drawn to its location. Maneuver around the side of the room and head up the ramps to reach the top, where one Construct likely will remain.

With the Wooden Stick, knock this Construct to the lower level, then use Ultrahand on the Cannon on the ground. This Cannon will automatically fire at enemies in its range, so just rotate it to face the remaining Constructs and let it rip.

This is the easiest way to get through the Shrine, but of course, there are nearly infinite ways to use even the simplest parts for solutions in Tears of the Kingdom. In fact, around the shrine, Link can find other Zonai Devices to attach to the crawlers to make the damage even more deadly, like Fire Emitters. The Cannon can also be attached to them, though it's more fun when Link aims it.

How To Get The Chest in Mayachideg Shrine

Once every Construct has been killed, Link's equipment is returned to him, and the innermost chamber of the Shrine is unlocked. The only Chest in Mayachideg is found at the entrance to this room and doesn't require the player to do anything special, as it's provided as a reward for completing the challenge.

This is common in Shrines that either test Link's combat skills or are only unlocked after completing a challenge in the overworld, often nicknamed Rauru's Blessing Shrines in-game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
