The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features diverse armor sets that provide various benefits to Link. The Glide Armor set, also known as the “Wingsuit,” is particularly useful as it grants Link the Skydive Mobility Up bonus. This bonus allows Link to glide with the paraglider for longer distances by drastically decreasing Stamina consumption. This makes traveling between Hyrule's many Sky Islands a breeze (literally).

Before the player can obtain the Glide Armor set, they must first unlock the paraglider in order to reach the Sky Islands, where they will complete the necessary challenges. The destination in each area is the large island featuring a series of stone rings. There are some significant gliding challenges ahead just to reach these, so the player may also consider taking on this challenge only after they have increased their Stamina wheel a good bit. It’s worth noting that Link can consume Stamina recovery food while gliding. Here’s everything there is to know about getting the Glide Armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

About The Glide Armor Set

The Glide Armor Set in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Glide Armor set consists of three pieces: the Glide Mask, the Glide Shirt, and the Glide Tights. Each piece contributes to the Skydive Mobility Up buff.

When the armor set has been upgraded to two-star rating, it will gain an additional benefit when worn together: the Impact Proof bonus, completely negating fall damage. Granted, the player can already use the paraglider to avoid this, but it’s useful in case they have managed to completely run out of Stamina and are hopelessly free-falling.

Where to Find the Glide Shirt

To obtain the Glide Shirt, head to the Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower at coordinates -1901, 1243, 0297, northwest of New Serenne Stable. Activate the pedestal inside the tower to launch into the air. From there, glide southwest towards Courage Island.

Courage Island can be found at coordinates -2226, 0927, 1644, in the Hyrule Ridge Sky region. Gliding directly to the island may be challenging for players with low Stamina, so consider stopping at smaller islands along the way to recharge, or using Stamina-restoring consumables.

Upon reaching Courage Island, speak with the Steward Construct to learn about the Dive Ceremony challenge. Before attempting the timed challenge, the player must first complete a trial dive, which activates the nearby Taunhiy Shrine. Complete the shrine before proceeding to the timed diving challenge.

The player can then accept the Dive Ceremony challenge from the Steward Construct. Each attempt at the challenge will cost one Zonai Charge. Activate the device to begin then dive off the island, passing through all the green rings, and reach the bottom within 35 seconds to complete the challenge. Successful completion awards the player the Glide Shirt.

Completing the timed challenge unlocks another Dive Ceremony, where the player must dive through all the rings and land within 20 seconds. The reward for this challenge is a Large Zonai Charge, and beating the current best record will award an additional charge each time. This makes the challenge useful for farming additional Large Zonai Charges. To do so, the player should aim to set a record very close to the 20-second requirement and gradually improve their time by short increments with subsequent attempts.

Where to Find the Glide Tights

To acquire the Glide Tights, the player should make their way to the Thyplo Ruins Skyview Tower at coordinates 0338, 3123, 0174, north of the Great Hyrule Forest. Fly south from the tower toward Bravery Island in the North Hyrule Sky Archipelago region.

Bravery Island is floating at coordinates 0243, 2092, 1980, above the Lost Woods. On the island, accept the Dive Ceremony challenge from the island's Steward Construct. Again, the player will need to dive through all the rings within 35 seconds. Doing so will award the Glide Tights. As with the previous challenge, each attempt requires a fee of one Zonai Charge. Completing this Dive Ceremony will also unlock a 20-second challenge to acquire a Large Zonai Charge as a reward.

Where to Find the Glide Mask

Finally, to obtain the Glide Mask, head to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower at coordinates 3845, -1306, 0539, at the peak of Mount Lanayru. Be prepared to handle the freezing air in this mountainous region with a cold-resistant food buff and beneficial armor.

Once launched into the sky, glide northeast from the tower toward Valor Island, in the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago region. Keep in mind that attempting to glide directly to Valor Island will consume a significant amount of Stamina compared to the previous islands. Consider making pit stops on nearby islands northeast of the tower. Each of these islands features an assembled Zonai flying machine to aid in traveling to the next island.

Use the second flying machine to finally reach Valor Island, located at coordinates 4471, -0840, 2624, in the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago region. Again, perform the trial runm which unlocks the nearby Sihajog Shrine. Once completed, accept the Dive Ceremony challenge from the island's Steward Construct. Dive through all the rings within 35 seconds to complete the challenge and obtain the Glide Mask.

Similar to the previous challenges, each attempt at the challenge requires a Zonai Charge fee, and completing this challenge will unlock an additional Dive Ceremony, providing an opportunity to obtain more Large Zonai Charges.
