Sony has pulled back the curtain on the PS Plus free games for June 2023, formally known as the Essential tier, with NBA 2K23 headlining the month alongside Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Trek to Yomi. PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim these titles in native PS4 and PS5 versions.
PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim these new PS4 and PS5 titles beginning on June 6, and they'll have until July 3 to claim the above selection. However, anyone who has yet to claim the May selection of games will need to do so before June 6. The PS Plus free games for May 2023 include Grid Legends (PS4/PS5), Chivalry 2 (PS4/PS5), and Descenders (PS4/PS5).
NBA 2K23 is no doubt a big get for PS Plus, but since it is an annualized sports game, it remains to be seen how it is received as a headliner. The good news is that it is backed up by some solid titles too. Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a management sim where players get to control their own dinosaurs, complete with four different game modes and an expanded roster of dinosaurs over the original. Finally, Trek to Yomi is a cinematic action-adventure game, which features stylized black-and-white graphics and a gripping narrative about samurai.
PS Plus Free Games for June 2023 List
- NBA 2K23 (PS4/PS5)
- Jurassic World Evolution 2 (PS4/PS5)
- Trek to Yomi (PS4/PS5)
Of course, fans also know a bigger selection is on the horizon. Sony is expected to reveal the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for June 2023 in the next week or so, with the titles dropping around the middle of the month. Sony typically releases around 20 new games on the service with this update, and it's unlikely to change in June. What they could be is impossible to predict, but fans should keep an ear out for this announcement.
Furthermore, the service is expected to drop 16 PS Plus Extra and Premium games in June 2023, which include the following: 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, Agents of Mayhem, Ash of Gods: Redemption, Black Mirror, Defense Grid 2, Descenders, Gods Will Fall, Joe Dever's Lone Wolf, John Wick Hex, KeyWe, No Straight Roads, Party Hard, Red Faction, Red Faction 2, Redeemer: Enhanced Edition, and Wytchwood. It should be noted that, unlike the Essential Tier games, anything removed from PS Plus Extra and Premium cannot be played after they're gone.
PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
